Job description
Overview

Team Leader - Children\'s Residential Team at Medway Council, based at Eden House. This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary of up to £39,632 per annum.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and motivate staff, ensuring high-quality professional supervision and development plans that enhance individuals\' development and contribute to outcomes for children and young people.
  • Undertake daily monitoring and audits of medications in accordance with the home\'s policy and procedures.
  • Encourage educational attainment and work in partnership with agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.
  • Promote children\'s involvement within the home; advocate for their views and ensure they are listened to and acted upon.
  • Encourage and support children to manage risk and take responsibility for aspects of their care, in line with their age and abilities.
  • Plan activities that meet children\'s needs and requests; manage resource requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records for children and ensure essential handover information is available at the end of each shift.
  • Perform other activities as agreed with the Head of Service, consistent with the role.

Requirements
  • Educated to GCSE standard.
  • NVQ 3 - Level 3 Diploma (QCF) in Children and Young People\'s workforce (or equivalent).
  • Experience of small budgetary responsibilities.
  • Experience of multi-agency working.
  • Experience of working in a children\'s residential setting with a senior/supervisory role.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care.
  • Full driving licence.
