Team Leader and Full Time/Bank Support Workers
Location: BN10 area (Peacehaven, East Sussex)
Salary: Weekday - £15.30 per hour, Weekend - £17.10 per hour, Waking Night - £15.30 per hour, Team Leader Premium - £100.00 per week
Hours: Shifts include weekdays, weekends, bank holidays, and school holidays on a rolling rota. Typical shifts are 7.30am–5.00pm, 5.00pm–10.00pm, and waking nights; hours may vary.

On behalf of their client, the company is recruiting a team of support workers to provide 24-hour one-to-one support. They are seeking the right team to support a young man in his 30s who is navigating life after a brain injury. He has a great sense of humour, big dreams, and a strong desire to live as independently as possible, make new friends, and explore his community. He is registered blind due to a visual impairment and experiences significant cognitive challenges, needing support with planning, organising and staying engaged.
The Support Worker Role
- Support with daily routines and planning activities; engage him in enjoyable and meaningful pursuits.
- Encourage social connection and participation in the community.
- Help foster independence and confidence in everyday tasks—assist with cooking, shopping, general tidying, attending appointments, and other daily activities.
- Be a reliable, friendly presence—and share a laugh along the way.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and under the guidance of therapists to assist in rehabilitation.
Skills and Qualifications — Support Worker
- Compassionate, patient, upbeat with a good sense of humour.
- Experience supporting people with physical or cognitive impairments; keen to learn.
- Organised, proactive, and genuinely wants to empower others.
- Open to flexible hours and a rewarding, unique role.
- Must be a driver.
- Ability to assist with smart equipment (training and guidance provided).
- Experience of working with individuals registered blind (beneficial).
- Experience of working with individuals with a brain injury (advantage).
- Good communication skills.
The Team Leader Role
- Lead and coordinate a 24-hour committed team of support workers.
- Lead by example with a trusting, compassionate, and positive relationship with the client.
- Work directly with the client to support planning, community access, and meaningful engagement.
- Maintain clear routines, documentation, and communication with the family, case manager, and professionals.
- Promote independence, personal growth, and social connection.
- Foster a positive, Can-Do atmosphere where the client and team can thrive.
Skills and Qualifications — Team Leader
- Natural leader with experience supporting individuals with complex cognitive or physical needs.
- Passionate about person-centred care; willing to go the extra mile.
- Organised, proactive, and confident managing schedules and responsibilities.
- Warmth, resilience, and a great sense of humour; excited about mentoring a team and seeing direct impact.
- Pride in work ethic and ability to work as part of a wider MDT.
