Job description

We are looking to recruit to our dynamic Neonatal Team and would love you to come and join us.We are one of the Special Care Baby Units supported by the Sub Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Centre (SuRNICC) in North Wales. We provide care for sick and preterm infants and their families from 32 weeks gestation from across North West Wales. We are able to offer support to families following discharge home with our Neonatal Outreach Service.

We are looking for a Registered Nurse who holds a Neonatal Qualification and has worked for a number of years on a Neonatal Unit to join us, as a senior experienced member of the Neonatal Nursing Team.

We are supported by one of the Neonatologists and ANNP from SuRNICC. You will be working alongside a Neonatal Practice Development Nurse based on SCBU to develop and enhance Neonatal care and practice.

With strong team working and leadership skills, you will be able to demonstrate the values that are important to us, communicating well with both colleagues and families. You should have the vision and ability to help move the service forward, while getting the best out of your colleagues and team and will never compromise on quality always treating others with respect and dignity.

Main duties of the job

To work as a member of the team providing specialist care to infants. Assess the patients nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in order to ensure the delivery of effective patient care using a family centred approach to care. To be responsible for the organisation of a caseload of infants while on duty.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Job responsibilities

With experience, will be required to take charge of a clinical area within the Unit including delegation and supervision of junior staff. Undertake delegated line management responsibilities. To communicate with all nursing and medical colleagues, multi-disciplinary team both internal and external, e.g. social services, health visitors.
