Overview

Team Lead/Health Visitor

Band 7 £50,861 - £59,159 (pro rata)

Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,406 (pro rata)

22.5 hours per week

NHS Western Isles is currently seeking a Health Visitor Team Lead to join our Balivanich Clinic.

Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and co-ordination of the School Nursing Team to provide a pro-active accessible and equitable island wide health visiting and school nursing service.
  • To provide leadership to the team with responsibility for the implementation of service developments based on agreed policies and procedures ensuring a high quality service working within the NMC Code, and Clinical Governance frameworks.
  • A small Health Visiting caseload is required with this post.
  • Responsible for the training of student Health Visitors and liaison with higher education establishments.
Qualifications and Experience
  • You must be a Registered Public Health Nurse with a qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Degree.
  • You must have several years post registration as a Public Health Nurse/Health Visitor with several years experience with diverse caseload and leadership/management experience. A driving licence and access to vehicle is essential for this post.
  • The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme).
