A leading educational staffing agency is seeking a Cover Supervisor in England. This role involves supervising lessons in the absence of a teacher, delivering pre-prepared content, and supporting young people's learning. Key skills include confidence and patience, with a minimum commitment of two days a week. Flexible work hours are offered, along with training opportunities and a supportive environment. Suitable candidates will not require formal qualifications but must have a right to work in the UK.
Five Education requires a Cover Supervisor to cover lessons in the event of a teacher's absence. You will be required to follow cover instructions and teach the pre-prepared lesson materials. The suitable candidate will be engaging and confident with children and young people. The school requires you to deliver lesson content, answer questions they may have and offer clear instructions/guidance to enable pupils to stay on track with the learning that is taking place within the classroom.
Five Education is working with multiple schools in Glastonbury, this includes mainstream primary and secondary schools, specialist (SEND) schools and alternative provision. You could be teaching any subject in the National Curriculum. The successful candidate will have a strong sense of initiative, be quick thinking and resilient. The highest demand is for people who can teach Key Stage 3-4 Maths and English. However, if you can teach practical or creative subjects, this skill set is also very much in demand. Additionally, we need people from trade backgrounds, creative industries and those who practice sports.
This work is available on a day-to-day basis, meaning you only work on the days you choose to be available, but we also have longer‑term positions over several terms. No formal teaching qualification is required to work as a Cover Supervisor but experience working with children and young people is desirable.
If you want gratifying and flexible work in fantastic schools, then please do get in touch. We pay weekly and offer temporary work. Some of our candidates are between jobs in their main role or they are studying. We require a minimum commitment of two days a week. The hours of work are 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, this work is term‑time only.
If you do not have a Non‑Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.
Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employer's NI. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.
Five Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all of the staff we employ to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be required to undergo checks including reference checks, TRA checks and will need to have a DBS; there will also be an interview.
We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates as they are currently under‑represented at this level.
