Job summary

A local educational institution in England is seeking a TA2 for one-to-one support of a student with autism. This role involves providing in-class support, implementing innovative strategies, and working collaboratively with a team of professionals. Job description
Thank you for your interest in the position of TA2 – 1:1 at Aylesford School.

This position is offered on a 31.25 hour working week 08.30am – 3.15pm (Monday to Friday) based on a term time plus teacher training days basis (39 weeks per annum) and will offer a starting salary of £19,095.32 per annum. This role is offered on a fixed term contract basis until 31 August 2026.

As an TA2 providing one to one support to a student with autism who has some gaps in their learning. This will involve some in class support as well as 1:1 catch up work in our Learning Support Hub.

The successful applicant will support the implementation of exciting, innovative strategies and interventions that will engage pupils and have a significant impact on progress. We are looking for someone that is experienced in working with students with autism and who is able to support progress in the secondary core subject curriculum.

You need to be able to:
  • Work flexibly and confidently with a neurodiverse young person, and when directed to support a wider range of children with social, emotional and mental health needs and more wide ranging SEND.
  • Demonstrate a passion for learning and inclusion
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to engage and motivate children with complex needs
  • Be solution focussed and emotionally resilient in highly emotive and unpredictable situations
  • Demonstrate an understanding of child development
  • Be committed to our nurturing ethos in order to grow confident and happy learners
  • Work as part of a team of professionals.

Following a period of partial school closure due to building works, from Spring 2026 we will start to see our refurbished building returned to the staff and students of Aylesford School, this is an exciting time for our students and staff.
