Position: Teaching Assistant
Location: Alasger
Role Type: Full-time / Part Time

A SEN school based in Alasger supporting pupils across primary and secondary age ranges is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its team. This is a rewarding opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting autistic pupils with their communication, sensory, and social development in a structured and nurturing environment. They are looking to appoint a teaching assistants for day to day assignments and long term positions.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to support pupils both in and out of the classroom. Pupils may experience difficulties with communication, emotional regulation, sensory processing, and changes to routine, and your consistent support will help them feel safe and engaged with learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils with Autism (ASD) in their learning and daily routines
  • Working with both primary and secondary pupils to promote communication, independence, and emotional regulation
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support linked to individual education plans
  • Supporting pupils during transitions and unstructured times such as breaks and lunch
  • Implementing strategies to support sensory needs, routines, and positive behaviour
  • Encouraging the development of social skills, confidence, and positive relationships
About You
