A primary school in Loughborough is seeking a passionate teaching assistant to join their team full-time. The role involves working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing targeted support to nurture and inspire their academic and personal growth. The school promotes a strong commitment to safeguarding and offers continuous professional development opportunities to its staff. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and work within a supportive environment.
JOB OVERVIEW:
Thorpe Acre Junior School is looking for a passionate, highly skilled, full-time teaching assistant to work with children with SEND, either individually, or as part of small groups, and to deliver academic, pastoral and behavioural support, whilst successfully nurturing and inspiring our children. This position will initially be within our mainstream school.
We are a vibrant and friendly school, committed to the inclusion of all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Our belief is that with reasonable adjustments children can meet their potential and learn alongside their peers. Our team has a wealth of experience in SEND and support each other well.
Our school is set in a well-connected location, within walking distance of Thorpe Acre Infant School and two secondary schools, and works with the BeSkilled collaborative. You will have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced team and have access to a range of CPD.
Thorpe Acre Junior School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Pre-employment checks will be carried out: identification and Right to Work in the UK will be required; an online search undertaken; references will be sought, and the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check for a regulated activity (including a barred list check) and other relevant checks with statutory bodies. We actively support the government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.
