Teaching Assistant – Wilmslow – Alderley Edge – Primary

Location: Wilmslow, Alderley Edge

Start Date: January 2026

Contract: Temporary to Permanent (via Astro Education)

Hours: Part Time – Term Time Only

Salary: £90 – £100 per day (dependent on experience)

Part‑Time Teaching Assistant (Wednesday to Friday) January Start, (with a view to becoming permanent)

Working in partnership with a school in Wilmslow via Astro Education – Ethical. Transparent. School‑Led Recruitment.

Astro Education is delighted to be working in close partnership with the wonderful team at a Primary School in Wilmslow to recruit a Level 3 (or equivalent) Teaching Assistant, starting January 2026, for three days per week (Wednesday – Friday).

You will be fully supported by Darren and the Astro team from your first enquiry to your first day in school and beyond.

The Role (Wednesday – Friday)
  • Support teaching and learning across EYFS/KS1/KS2, including 1:1, small group and whole class work
  • Help plan, deliver and evaluate learning activities
  • Support pupils' emotional, social and academic development
  • Prepare resources, maintain a purposeful learning environment and celebrate pupils' achievements
  • Assist with personal care where required
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, teachers and parents
  • Record progress and contribute to behaviour or individual education plans

For the right candidate, full BSL (British Sign Language) training will be provided, supporting the school's inclusive approach.

What the school is looking for

Essential qualities include:

  • Level 3 qualification or equivalent TA Person Specification
  • Experience working with primary‑aged children
  • A warm, approachable and energetic personality
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
  • Ability to work flexibly, independently and with professionalism
