A leading sixth form college in the United Kingdom seeks a passionate and motivated teacher for A Level Economics starting January 2026. This part-time role offers an excellent opportunity for both experienced professionals and Early Careers Teachers, with support for those new to sixth form education. Applicants should demonstrate dynamic teaching skills and a commitment to the college community, alongside delivering a curriculum following the AQA specification.
With an exceptional reputation both locally and nationally, Reigate College focuses on excellent teaching, learning and support to make it one of the best sixth form colleges in the country. The College is a great place to work and study, with an active, inclusive and supportive community ethos at the heart of everything it does.
The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated teacher to join the highly successful Economics Department. The post is available from 1 January 2026 to 31 August 2026 on a fixed-term, part‑time basis (38.10% to 76.19%). The post would equally suit an experienced or Early Careers Teacher (ECT). For ECTs, a full programme of training and development will be provided. All new members of staff receive mentors to help them settle into the College. This post provides an exciting opportunity for those wishing to specialise in sixth form education. Candidates who have little or no experience teaching A Level Economics are still encouraged to apply, as the Department is able to support those wishing to make the transition to sixth form teaching.
The Department is housed in specialist facilities in the Business Centre. The team consists of five other members of teaching staff who work in a collaborative style, contributing to central teaching resources. The Department is led by a Head of Department, supported by a Course Leader for A Level Economics (Year 1). The Department meets once a week during the College's dedicated Meeting Slot during the College day. The Department has an excellent record of outstanding student achievement, high quality provision and innovative curriculum development. Students regularly progress onto university courses for Economics, Politics, Accounting, PPE, Business, Maths and Journalism, as well as a range of highly competitive apprenticeships.
The Department offers A Level Economics on the AQA specification.
The full‑time equivalent salary for this post is up to £53,232 per annum. The contact time for a full‑time teacher is 21 hours per week (20 hours teaching and 1 hour Tutor). ECTs receive a 5% or 10% reduction on their timetable depending on whether they are a first or second year ECT.
Applicants are asked to complete and return the application form to the Personnel Department by email to jobs@reigate.ac.uk as soon as possible, but no later than 9.00am on Monday 1 December 2025. When completing their application, candidates are asked to indicate:
