A leading educational institution in England is seeking a passionate Teacher of Computer Science to join their team for September 2026. This role involves teaching high-achieving students at GCSE and A-level, with opportunities for both full-time and part-time hours. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of Computer Science and be willing to teach a second subject. As a Teacher of Computer Science at the RGS, you will be confident teaching our high achieving students at GCSE and A-level. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and those new to the profession and are happy to consider full time or part time hours. This position is for September 2026.
You will have an in-depth knowledge of Computer Science and be enthusiastic to share this in a classroom setting with students from the third form (Year 9) through to Upper Sixth. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable teaching a second subject to GCSE or above.
There are currently 120 students studying Computer Science across GCSE and A-level. Students perform well in public exams with around 85% achieving Grade 8 – 9 at GCSE, and 75% achieving A*/A at A-level.
As well as nurturing enthusiastic students, the RGS is a welcoming and rewarding place to work. The latest ISI inspection report identified two significant strengths within our School; "scholarship" and "mutual respect".
You would be joining a friendly, motivated team who take pride in their pupils’ achievements both in and outside of the classroom at events such as the Bebras Computational Thinking competition, the British Algorithmic Olympiad and the Perse Coding Challenge.
