Are you looking for your next challenge and an opportunity to improve the life chances of our learners as a Teacher in Mechanical Engineering with a main focus on planning, delivery and assessment of Mechanical engineering with experience of CAD. Teaching Level 2 and BTEC Level 3 programmes.

We are looking for a Teacher in Mechanical Engineering - 0.8 FTE (28.8 hours) Maternity cover until July 2026.

Here's the standard bit

You'll be responsible for planning, delivering and developing teaching/learning programmes using a flexible range of strategies and learning styles; taking responsibility for your quality of teaching and related curriculum development that meet learner needs, whilst assessing learners progress in College or on work experience and devise assessment processes against highly personalised progress targets. The main focus on planning, delivery and assessment of practical skills in the areas of fitting, milling and turning at Level 2 and Level 3.

What you'll need
  • Experience in teaching CAD and mechanical engineering including maths and science.
  • Be enthusiastic, resilient and highly motivated with Literacy and Numeracy to at least Level 2, you must have a Level 3/4 qualification or relevant NVQ (or equivalent).
  • Level 5 Diploma (DTLLS) or equivalent within 2 years of appointment, relevant assessment qualifications - IQA/A1/V1 and evidence of current Continuous Professional Development.
  • It would be of benefit if you held a Level 4 Teaching Qualification: Certificate in Education/ PGCE/Bachelor of Education this is desirable.
