Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years of corporate tax experience at a large corporate organization or a Big Four accounting firm.
  • Strong understanding of HMRC processes and international tax principles.

Job description

Culligan is seeking a Tax Assistant Manager to play a vital role in the management of tax governance, compliance and reporting matters of the UK&I Culligan Group. In addition, this role will support the UK&I Tax Manager in international tax matters, including transfer pricing and the roll-out of tax control procedures. These entities represent key intermediary and first-stage global holding companies, boasting Gross Assets of USD $9.6 Billion, along with a diverse portfolio of global interests and transactions throughout the Culligan Group.

With a dynamic and expanding company structure, Culligan is highly acquisitive. This position is part of the EMEA HQ team in the UK, directly reporting to the UK&I Tax Manager, with the team located in Dereham, Norfolk. Notably, OBL serves as the main investment and funding vehicle for the entire Culligan Group, making precise reporting and meticulous attention to detail essential for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Assists in the UK&I tax compliance matters, including corporate income tax, VAT and withholding taxes, working with external advisors and internal Finance Directors.
  • Partners with UK&I business units to ensure tax compliance and governance, including timely filings of tax returns and payments of tax liabilities.
  • Collaborates in the quarterly tax reporting process, working with UK&I business units feeding into the wider Culligan Group consolidation.
  • Monitors changes in UK&I tax legislation, rulings, regulations, and litigation (income tax, VAT, customs, etc.).
  • Supports the UK&I Tax Manager in all M&A activity in the region and corporate reorganizations.
  • Assists with a number of UK&I tax advisory matters, for example Controlled Foreign Company disclosures, Corporate Interest Restriction returns, Disregard Elections, withholding tax clearance requests and CT61 fillings.
  • Collaborates in the Pillar 2 compliance.
  • Prepares the Senior Accounting Officer notifications and certificates.
  • Participates and contributes to the continuous improvement of the UK&I, EMEA and global tax function.
Requirements
  • BS in Finance, Accounting or equivalent experience.
  • ACA / ACCA / CTA qualified.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of corporate tax experience at a large corporate organisation or a Big Four accounting firm.
