Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Clinical Support Worker (CSW) to work in a Talking Therapies service. The role combines clinical and administrative duties. You will screen referrals, conduct telephone assessments, help users access treatment, manage waiting lists, and provide first‑point support via phone, email and other channels.

Key responsibilities
  • Screen incoming referrals to determine suitability for the service based on established criteria.
  • Proactively engage service users to help them access treatment by initiating contact and responding to queries.
  • Conduct telephone assessment calls to gather clinical information and progress referrals.
  • Manage waiting lists for a specific care pathway, booking appointments and coordinating with clinicians and team leads.
  • Act as the first point of contact for service users and professionals by phone, email and other mediums.
Administrative tasks
  • Perform workshop admin tasks, including contacting clients who have not attended and reviewing post‑workshop outcomes.
  • Collect and analyse data such as performance figures or service‑user feedback.
  • Assist in the design and management of electronic spreadsheets and databases as required.
  • Deal professionally with telephone/email enquiries, using initiative to take follow‑up actions and reassure distressed patients in a tactful manner.
Professional responsibilities
  • Work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and committing to equal opportunities.
  • Ensure client confidentiality is protected at all times.
  • Attend supervision on a regular basis as agreed with the manager.
