Systems Test & Integration Engineer - Permanent - Crawley, West Sussex

My client is developing world‑class flight simulators that are shaping the future of aviation training. You will deliver high‑performance, real‑time systems for the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities
  • Lead system integration of hardware and software subsystems into cohesive flight simulation systems.
  • Design and implement integration procedures and troubleshoot integration issues to ensure seamless performance.
  • Maintain and optimize system configurations for operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Define and execute test plans to verify system performance, functionality, and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and performance metrics required for certification.
  • Develop and conduct test procedures; create detailed reports summarizing results, deviations, and corrective actions.
  • Act as primary point of contact for customers during acceptance; conduct system tests and demonstrations to gain sign‑off.
  • Respond to system issues during testing or customer feedback; document, track, and resolve within timelines.
  • Lead troubleshooting and diagnostic efforts for complex malfunctions and anomalies.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers and internal teams.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in system integration, hardware/software interfaces, and performance testing.
  • Experience with simulation software tools, modelling languages, and simulation platforms (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, RTOS).
  • Familiarity with industry standards and certifications (DO‑178C, DO‑254).

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of flight simulation systems such as FFS, FTD, or other man‑in‑the‑loop environments.
  • Prior customer‑facing experience during system acceptance testing and post‑delivery support.
  • Certification or training in INCOSE Systems Engineering practices.
  • Exposure to agile or hybrid development methodologies.
