Location: Stevenage

Salary: Up to £57,000 + benefits (Bonus, Overtime, Pension & more)

Hours: 37 hours per week

We currently have an exciting opportunity for talented Systems Design Engineers with a world class technical engineering company based in Bristol.

The opportunity

You will join the Systems Design team working with a multi‑functional team to re‑design a family of products as a result of obsolescence. The role requires the Systems Design Engineer to work across multiple business functions, leading the development of technology that covers the entire design lifecycle. The team is relatively small so there is huge scope to shape and grow whilst developing your own technical knowledge and competencies as you progress within the business.

What is the role
  • Responsible for the Systems Design activities at system of system level for an Obsolescence programme.
  • Responsible for the bid strategy for Systems as part of the System Obsolescence programme.
  • Coordination of multiple sub‑system stakeholders to deliver the Design Assurance and Certification plan.
  • Technical management: successfully leading the systems design and technical trade studies.

Skills and qualifications required from the following
  • Experience in system engineering, especially in the areas of :
    • Requirements management and Use Case analysis
    • System architecture design, justification and traceability
    • Interface definition
    • Design assurance and verification planning
    • Certification
  • Proficient Rational DOORS user, able to create and manage requirement modules as well as associated requirement verification modules, within formal change processes.
  • Possess excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills and the capability to write clear, concise engineering documentation.
  • Good verbal communication, listening and time management skills.
  • A desire to develop and grow your systems engineering skills, and to improve the system engineering methods used within the team.

Due to security requirement classification, this role is only open to British Citizen’s or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. You should be able and willing to gain (UK) security clearance, potentially to DV level in the future.
