Support Worker

Job Types : Full-time, Permanent

Salary : £14.30 per hour (sleep-in £16.30)

Hours : 37.5 hours per week (with a sleep-in it is 47.5 hours)

Location : Fishponds, Kingswood, Hanham, and Staple Hill

We are looking to recruit a Support Worker to join a specialist Forensics team supporting individuals who have progressed through forensic pathways and are rebuilding their lives within the community. This role involves working with people with mental ill health, substance misuse histories, and complex behavioural needs, delivering structured, person-centred support to promote stability, recovery, and risk reduction.

About the role

In this role, you will hold a caseload of individuals requiring intensive, coordinated support. You will develop detailed support and risk management plans, work closely with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure that safeguarding, compliance, and recovery-focused outcomes remain central to all interventions. The position requires resilience, strong professional boundaries, and a confident, trauma-informed approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide structured, person-centred support to individuals with forensic backgrounds
  • Develop, implement, and review support plans and risk assessments
  • Support individuals with substance misuse challenges, including drug and alcohol dependency
  • Monitor engagement and respond proactively to risks and early warning signsWork closely with MDTs, probation, healthcare, and social care professionals
  • Contribute to safeguarding processes and report concerns appropriately
  • Maintain accurate documentation and outcome reporting
  • Support individuals to build routines, life skills, and community connections
About You
  • At least 12 months experience supporting individuals with mental ill health
  • Experience working with forensic pathways and complex risk presentations
  • Understanding of substance misuse and recovery-focused approaches
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships
  • NVQ in Health and Social Care is desirable
  • Confident using IT systems and maintaining detailed records
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
