Job summary

A specialist care provider in Dover is seeking a Support Worker to provide practical and emotional care to individuals, enabling them to live their lives to the fullest. This role is for a flexible individual, as shift work including weekends and bank holidays is required. Candidates should have experience in supporting adults with challenging behavior and a Diploma in Health and Social Care or a willingness to work towards one. The position offers £12.71 per hour and various benefits including paid DBS checks and training opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in supporting adults with learning disabilities or mental health issues.
  • Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Willingness to complete a DBS check.

Responsibilities

The Role

We are providing individuals with practical and emotional care, enabling them to lead as ordinary life as they can achieve. To help them achieve this you will need to be flexible as you are required to work shifts including bank holidays, weekends and potential sleep ins.

Main duties and responsibilities

To participate in the day to day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment.

To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality.

To support service users with the preparation of Meals, Laundry duties, cleaning and social events.

To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required.

To work as part of a team to provide high quality care.

Personal Characteristics

Diploma in Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards one.

Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.

The ability to keep calm under pressure.

The confidence to work alone or as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills

The passion to work with vulnerable adults

The desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.
