Job summary

A care service provider is seeking a Support Worker to assist children and young people with Mental Health issues across the North West of England and North Wales. Successful candidates will ensure the highest quality of care and support those with various needs, including challenging behavior. Previous experience and a valid DBS are essential. This role offers flexible shifts, including long and short days.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a similar role.
  • Valid Child and Adult DBS on the update service.
  • References covering the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care to children and young people.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
  • Support clients in purchasing food from various sources.

Skills

Experience working with children and young people

Education

NVQ Level 3 in childcare or equivalent

Overview

Role: Support Worker

Location: Across the North West of England and North Wales

Pay: £15 - £20ph

Hours:

  • Long days (8am - 11pm) and sleep in
  • Shorter day shifts with varied times
  • 12 hour shifts 8am - 8pm or 8pm - 8am
About the role

These roles will be working with children and young people with a range of Mental Health issues. You will be required to have experience working in a similar role. These positions are on a 2 to 1 basis.

Duties
  • You will be required to ensure that children and young people are provided with the highest quality of care possible and to assist them reaching their fullest potential.
  • To ensure children\'s safety and well-being is appropriately protected at all times
  • To provide high standard help, care and support
  • To enable clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate) to enjoy a range of food and support them to buy their food from various places including markets/ super markets or specialist shops
Client needs and potential challenges
  • The young people involved in these placements can have a range of needs, including:
  • Challenging & aggressive behaviour
  • Learning disability
  • Autistic Spectrum Condition
  • ADHD
  • Personality Disorder
  • Self-Injury
  • M.H diagnosis
  • Victims of the range of abuses
  • Inappropriate behaviours
Criteria for these roles
  • Child and Adult DBS - on the update service
  • Previous Experience in a similar role
  • NVQ Level 3 in childcare or equivalent (desirable not essential)
  • References covering the last 3 years
