A recruitment agency in Greater Manchester seeks compassionate Support Workers to assist individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. Responsibilities include providing personal care, maintaining care plans, and building supportive relationships. Flexibility with shifts, including weekends, is essential. Position : Support Worker - Challenging Behaviour Location : Cheadle Hulme Salary £12.71 Contract : Temporary to permanent after 10 weeks Shifts : AM 07 : 30am - 15 : 00pm / 14 : 30 - 22 : 00pm including weekends 2 in 4 weekends (every other weekend).
We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and proactive Support Workers to join our clients team supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and complex or challenging behaviours. Your role is to promote independence, dignity, and quality of life while helping to create a safe, supportive environment.
No two days will be the same. You will be working closely with individuals who may present behaviours and make a positive impact
Provide day-to-day support with personal care, daily living skills, and activities
Able to respond safely and calmly to challenging situations
Build meaningful relationships that encourage independence and choice
Foster excellent working relationships with colleagues
Support individuals to access the community and engage in enriching activities
Maintain accurate records and follow care plans
Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and colleagues
Ensure safeguarding, dignity, and respect are central to all work
Caring, patient, and committed to supporting vulnerable adults and children
Able to remain calm and confident in challenging situations
Good communication and team-working skills
Experience in support work coupled with challenging behaviour
Must be flexible with shifts and able to work weekends as above
Drivers preferred
