Overview

At Practice Plus Group we put people’s wellbeing first. Our Health in Justice service line is expanding into non‑custodial healthcare, delivering a person‑centred approach that assesses individuals’ mental health and neurodiversity requirements to redirect them to the most appropriate channel. We are looking for a Support Time and Recovery Navigator to join our team in North Yorkshire.

Location

Scarborough Police Station – some travel may be required.

Salary and Hours

Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week. Salary £29,264 to £33,510, depending on experience. Working hours 8:00‑18:00 over a seven‑day period.

Candidate Requirements

Legal right to work in the UK is required. Offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Responsibilities
  • Be part of an extended Liaison & Diversion team working across services.
  • Liaise with police, probation, courts and legal services, as well as inpatient and community health and social care services.
  • Support people in contact with children and adults, including those from hard‑to‑reach communities, navigating the Criminal Justice System.
  • Assist access to the full scope of identified health needs, including substance misuse, mental and physical health, homelessness, learning disabilities, exploitation, safeguarding and social care.
  • Provide practical support, maintain a programme of support, work with families, advocate and enable access to agencies (probation, community organisations, clinics, courts, mental health services, hospitals).

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Health and/or Social Care or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of working face‑to‑face with service users with a variety of health needs.
  • Understanding of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to gain appropriate consent.
  • Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety.
  • Knowledge of evidence‑based practice, health promotion, NICE guidelines.
