A community support organization in Leigh-On-Sea is seeking a Support Assistant for a full-time role providing person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities. The successful applicant will deliver meaningful care in a 24-hour service environment, ensuring residents maintain their independence and access community activities. We are currently recruiting a Support Assistant to join our team in Leigh-On-Sea, to work on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week).
The team delivers a supported living care service and the home supports 5 individuals with learning disabilities. This is a 24‑hour service with a mixture of day, early and late shifts (currently 12.5‑hour shifts but subject to change with customer needs) with optional sleep‑in shifts available.
The home offers a private garden area that the residents enjoy, and private off‑road parking is available.
For the successful applicant, there will be variety in your day‑to‑day role, alongside excellent training. You will support the residents by offering person‑centred support and a choice of daily activities to provide a fulfilled and meaningful quality of life. You will maintain and develop their independence within the home, as well as accessing the community to new and established activities thereby empowering each person to their own level in a 24‑hour care setting.
Our services do require 24‑hour support and staff are expected to work bank holidays and weekends to meet the needs of the people we support.
