Job Description

As a Supply Teacher your role can be varied and may include any of the following (although we tailor around your requirements):

  • Fulfil the duties of a Teacher as set out in the School Teachers Pay and Conditions of Employment (this may include planning, preparing and delivering lessons, marking and assessing pupil attainment). If you do not want the planning etc, then ask us about Cover Supervising.
  • Establish a purposeful learning environment.
  • Teach structured lessons/sequences of work which interest and motivate children.
  • Ensure learning objectives are clearly shared with pupils. To set appropriately challenging learning and teaching objectives for whole class, groups or individuals.
  • Use a variety of teaching and learning strategies.
  • Be responsible for the safeguarding and wellbeing of children by following and being committed to our and school policy relating to behaviour management, safeguarding and health and safety.
  • To mark and assess pupils' work, using the school's monitoring and assessment policies against the learning objectives/outcomes.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment ensuring the smooth running of the classroom.
  • Managing pupils and their commitment to learn with minimal disruption.
Requirements
  • Ideally have your own transport to enable you to get to a variety of schools.
  • QTS / Bachelor's or Master's degree or already have experience within a school.
  • Good classroom control / behaviour management techniques.
  • Enthusiasm and commitment.
  • IT literate.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Two professional references.
