A major food wholesaler in the UK is seeking a Supply Planner to support its branches and category teams. This role involves improving cash profit and customer satisfaction through efficient stock management. Candidates should have excellent communication, negotiation skills, and organization abilities. Previous experience in procurement or supply chain is preferable, along with a background in using supply chain ordering systems. The position requires commitment to 38 hours weekly with 2-3 office days for team connectivity.
We are looking to appoint a Supply Planner in either our Wellingborough or Hemel Hempsted Head Office sites to support our branches and category teams.
Within this role you will be a pivotal part of the Supply Chain team by improving cash profit and customer satisfaction through the efficient management of stock.
Our Supply Chain teams are driven to succeed and process orientated, tasked with ensuring stock is in the right place at the right time. Whilst this can be a challenging role, the sense of accomplishment you will feel after finding resolutions or solving problems is second to none.
To apply for this role you should be able to commit to working 38 hours a week Monday to Friday
You will be required to work in the office at least 2-3 days a week to stay connected with the team.
This role can be based out of Hemel Hempstead, Maxted Road, HP2 7DX or Irthlingborough Rd, Wellingborough, NN8 1LT
To be successful in this role you will have to be an excellent communicator with ability to negotiate and influence at all levels for both internal and external stakeholders.
You will have excellent organisation and time management skills, be able to prioritise and keep to tight deadlines.
You’ll have a strong customer service orientation, good analytical skills, Basic/ Intermediate working knowledge of Excel, strong attention to detail.
Ideally, you will have had some previous procurement or supply chain/ retail experience and some knowledge of supply chain ordering systems, sales forecasting experience, but full training will be given.
GCSE or equivalent Maths and English grade C or above.
Desirable: Suitable supply chain professional qualification or an interest in studying for one or Educated to degree level
