Kick-start your career with a 12-month industrial placement on one of the UK’s most ambitious low‑carbon infrastructure projects. This Supply Chain Placement offers real responsibility, hands‑on commercial experience, and the opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant energy programme supporting the UK’s path to net zero.

You’ll join a major new‑build nuclear project, gaining exposure to procurement, contract management, supplier engagement and commercial delivery within one of the most complex supply chain environments in the UK.

Key Criteria: Essential
  • Currently studying Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Geography, or similar
  • Eligible to undertake a 12‑month placement as part of your degree
  • Right to work in the UK from placement start date
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Interest in procurement, supply chain or commercial project delivery
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced environment
  • Eligible for UK Security Vetting
  • Demonstrates ethical behaviour, professionalism and integrity
Desirable
  • Previous experience in supply chain, procurement, commercial or data‑focused roles
  • Understanding of contract management or supplier engagement
  • Experience with Excel, data tools or procurement platforms
  • Interest in major infrastructure, nuclear, or energy sector projects
  • Evidence of teamwork, leadership or involvement in extracurricular activities
About the Opportunity

As a Supply Chain Industrial Placement student, you’ll step into a junior commercial role with real tasks, real suppliers, and real impact. You’ll learn from experienced colleagues who will support your development through mentoring, coaching and on‑the‑job learning.

You will have the opportunity to:
  • Support procurement activities from initial interest to contract award
  • Help manage live contracts and evaluate payment applications
  • Assist with change control, commercial reporting and supplier relationships
  • Provide commercial analysis to project management and senior leaders
  • Rotate across teams to gain broader insight into supply chain and commercial operations
  • Apply your academic knowledge to practical industry challenges

Your placement will also include structured learning modules to support your degree requirements.

You must also be eligible for UK Security Vetting .

Location

You will be based at the Suffolk project office, with occasional travel to support cross‑team collaboration or project needs.
