Job summary

A recruitment agency is looking for a Data Analyst in the Dudley area, responsible for assisting the Purchasing Manager with stock control analysis. The role requires excellent Excel and communication skills, along with a minimum of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths. The candidate will work closely with various teams to manage stock levels effectively and must be prepared for an on-site position, 5 days a week. Strong organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Job description

We are now recruiting for our client based in Dudley area for a Data Analyst in the distribution sector.

The main role is to assist the Purchasing Manager with all analytical aspects of stock control. Daily duties will include excel analysis of stock levels and trends, liaising with category / department managers and the commercial team to ensure minimum and maximum levels are set correctly and all stock requirements are covered.

Liaising with logistics to actively contribute to the control and utilisation of space.

To elevate any issues which arise to the line management at the earliest possible moment to enable the management structure to resolve any issues in a timely fashion.

The successful candidate will have excellent computer and communication skills, be highly organised and have the ability to work to tight deadlines and work under pressure. In addition, the successful candidate will be able to prioritise their workload, work diligently and meticulously to company procedures.

Some knowledge of the ISO 9001 Quality Management system would be advantageous.

Essential knowledge / skills :
  • You will have excellent working experience of Microsoft exel; creating tables, formulas and graphs etc.
  • Excellent communication skills. Clear and effective with all levels throughout the business including senior management.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point).
  • A full clean driving licence and happy to travel (although minimal) across the UK for training / meetings.
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs to grade C or equivalent to include English and Maths.
Desirable :
  • Stock control background.
  • Knowledge of D365 system but full training will be provided.
  • Manufacturing background.
  • This is an on site role 5 days per week, working 40 hours per week, some flexibility is required during audit schedules as this may run over a standard working day
