Job description
Supplier Quality Engineer – Dewsbury / Leeds, Permanent

We have a position for a Supplier Quality Engineer for a permanent position in Dewsbury. The successful candidate will conduct supplier audits, lead and enhance quality processes, ensure compliance with industry standards, and drive continuous improvement across the business. The role will be for a minimum of three months with the opportunity to be extended long term.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, conduct, and report supplier audits and visits and maintain audit records.
  • PPAP management, tracking and maintaining PPAP submissions, approvals, questions, and documentation. Reviewing PPAP submissions, responding to supplier/internal queries and advising the purchasing team on PPAP levels.
  • Supplier visits and audits will be required, this will include some travel to suppliers and maintaining audit records.
  • Liaising with production teams to support production quality issues.
  • Develop and implement quality strategies to meet business and customer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a supplier quality engineer role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • IATF Lead Auditor certification or knowledge of IATF 16949.
  • Understanding of quality systems, standards (e.g., ISO 9001), and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver results within tight deadlines.
