A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Non-Medical Prescriber to join their Substance Misuse team at HMP Dovegate in Uttoxeter. In this full-time role, you will provide advanced clinical nursing practice, support patients with expert advice, and carry out comprehensive assessments. Ideal candidates are NMC Registered Nurses with a non-medical prescribing qualification and experience in substance misuse. We have an exciting opportunity for a Non-Medical Prescriber to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Dovegate, a category B Prison located near Uttoxeter in Staffordshire.
In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.
Hours
Monday to Fridays - flexible start time, working 7.5 hours a day. There is an expectation to work Saturdays, approximately one every six weeks.

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £51,643 per annum - depending on experience.

As a Senior Nurse you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning. You will deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model.
You must be able to carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users. You will monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers.
You will work with individuals, on a 1-1 basis, providing advice and information. You will support in group work delivery and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions. You will occasionally be required to support dispensing. You must have an understanding and commitment to recovery and a person centred approach.
You will also encourage patient involvement in regime and therapeutic activities and create a physical and psychological environment conducive to high quality care. You will assess individuals’ health needs using an evidence based framework and review medication for therapeutic effectiveness appropriate to the service users’ needs in accordance with evidence based practice, national and PPG protocols.
