Job description
Company Overview

EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market‑leading expertise from four civil engineering and construction companies – Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM Nuttall. The partners specialise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the development of one of Europe’s newest high‑speed rail projects. EKFB has been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80 km section of the new high‑speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.

Job Title

Sub Agent – Highways and Drainage

Responsibilities
  • Assist with construction strategy, including kick‑off meetings, pre‑commencement documentation (Method Statements, Environmental and Quality Plans, Construction programmes, procurement and design deliverable schedules).
  • Liaise with the Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant, materials and temporary works, ensuring activities meet required standards, programme and budget.
  • Manage the site engineering team and oversee the performance and development of Site and Section Engineers.
  • Coordinate construction operations to conform to contract requirements and maintain the required level of safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ).
  • Assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans and contribute to financial forecasting, site measurement, material reconciliations and cost control.
Qualifications
  • HNC/Degree in Construction/Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
  • Previous experience in large‑scale highways and drainage work is essential.
  • Strong team‑working skills.
  • Full UK driver’s licence and access to own vehicle.
  • SMSTS certification.
  • Valid CSCS card – Black, Gold, White, White/Yellow, Red (Experienced or Provisional for 6 months).
  • BPSS security clearance will be required (to be undertaken as part of onboarding).
