Overview

Christy Media Solutions is seeking experienced freelance Technical Supervisors to support a leading broadcast studio. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a flexible, freelance basis, taking responsibility for operating studio lighting, camera vision controls, and robotic camera systems, while ensuring the highest quality technical output. You\'ll act as the main technical contact during your shift, liaising with engineering teams, production staff, and assistants to ensure smooth studio operations.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and program the studio lighting desk, achieving technically correct and visually engaging results.
  • Adjust camera exposure and parameters using RCPs, ensuring consistent high-quality output.
  • Operate and recall shots on remote cameras.
  • Work with the Technical Manager to set lighting for varying production needs.
  • Supervise and guide the technical assistant on shift.
  • Oversee studio technical requirements, liaising with technical support and subcontractors.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Carry out safe and efficient studio turnarounds.
  • Perform technical checks, patching, and routing signals.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards at all times.
  • Strong creative eye for lighting and visual presentation.
  • Knowledge of studio lighting desk operation, cue management, and luminaire adjustments.
  • Ability to align and match camera channels accurately.
  • Good understanding of studio lighting fixtures, grip, DMX theory, and broadcast technology.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Broadcast studio experience in lighting and vision operations.
  • Ability to react quickly to challenges while remaining calm and professional.
  • Shifts will include early, lates and overnights and we are looking for candidates that are fully eligible to work in the UK.
