Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive, supportive and student-centred Student Advisor (Enrichment) to join our Safeguarding & Wellbeing team. In this role, you will provide a flexible presence across all three campuses, offering advice, guidance and signposting to students with a diverse range of needs. You will also play a key role in planning and delivering enrichment activities, events and opportunities that support learners’ personal, social and professional development.

Working collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies and the Students’ Union, you will contribute to a holistic and impactful support service that enhances the overall student experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students around campus and within the Student Support Centre, modelling appropriate behaviours.
  • Provide advice, guidance and signposting on welfare, financial support, careers and personal development matters.
  • Take timely and appropriate action to safeguard students, following college procedures and reporting concerns as required.
  • Offer meet‑and‑greet support at main entrances and ensure a welcoming, safe and respectful environment.
  • Deliver enrichment activities, workshops and events to engage students and encourage constructive use of leisure time.
  • Coordinate an annual Enrichment Calendar, including events such as Freshers’ Fair, International Women’s Day and Healthy Lifestyles Week.
  • Work with curriculum teams, external agencies and stakeholders to develop engagement opportunities and events such as the Jack Petchey Award.
  • Plan, deliver and promote Students’ Union elections, officer development, meetings and events including trips.
  • Market and publicise enrichment and SU activities across social media, newsletters, noticeboards and other communication channels.
  • Gather images, stories and updates to showcase achievements and raise the profile of enrichment activities.
  • Develop new enrichment initiatives based on student needs and feedback.
  • Record and monitor student engagement, attendance and behaviour, supporting high standards across the College.
  • Support workshops and awareness events on topics such as bullying, money management and healthy lifestyles.
  • Mentor Students’ Union officers and encourage student-led initiatives.
  • Contribute to enrolment and other College events, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably associated with the role.
