Student Achievement Advisor – Maternity Cover

We are looking to recruit a Student Achievement Advisor to join the West Herts College Group. This is a fixed term role from February 2026 until November 2026.

Are you passionate about helping students thrive? We're on the lookout for a friendly, proactive, and student-focused Student Achievement Advisor to join our awesome team at West Herts College. The role will be based at our Luton Campus.

Responsibilities
  • Support students, both one‑on‑one and in small groups, with boosting their GCSE English and Maths skills, navigating exams and assessments, building up academic, technical and research skills and mastering study techniques.
  • Help students feel confident, capable and ready to tackle their courses.
  • Track student progress, create tailored support plans and work closely with curriculum teams to ensure every student gets the help they need.
Qualifications
  • At least a Level 3 qualification and GCSE Grade 4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Experience in helping students improve their GCSE English and Maths skills.
  • Excellent motivating and engaging skills across a range of vocational subjects.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to connect with students, parents and carers.
  • Team player capable of working independently and taking initiative.
  • Organised, resourceful, learning‑focused and learner‑first attitude.
