Qualifications

Job Description

Salary: Dependent on experience, skills and location. Waterman Aspen welcomes engineers and technical specialists to work on some of the biggest infrastructure projects across the UK. We specialise in secondment services, providing the right people with the right skills for the job at the right time. Our diverse client base includes local authorities, consultancies, public bodies and construction companies.

As a salaried colleague you will work in the Rail team and will be a key member of our projects. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities include:

  • Working with a team to produce designs and drawings for construction projects and deliver technical reports
  • Designing, preparing and checking calculations and drawings to ensure high quality deliverables
  • Presenting engineering options, including conceptual outlines and detailed designs
  • Using document management software such as ProjectWise and managing scope, schedule and risk analysis
  • Ensuring compliance with Network Rail standards and NEC3/4 contracts
  • Maintaining strong technical background in civil engineering and staying up to date with industry developments

We are looking for a candidate who meets the following qualifications:

  • Strong technical background in civil engineering
  • Working towards Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer with The Institution of Civil Engineers or The Institution of Structural Engineers
  • Knowledge of civil design and construction principles and standards
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a related subject
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and a full UK driving licence
