Job description

United Utilities is looking for a confident technical leader to take charge of our Streetworks audit, assurance and laboratory testing programme. If you're an expert in NRSWA compliance with a passion for quality, this is your chance to shape how a major FTSE 100 company delivers safe, compliant and high‑standard streetworks across the North West.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all streetworks audits, inspections and UKAS‑aligned laboratory testing
  • Manage and develop a high‑performing Streetworks Compliance Team
  • Act as Laboratory Manager, ensuring full regulatory and quality compliance
  • Oversee contracts, budgets and relationships with internal teams, Network Partners, Highways Authorities and UKAS
  • Serve as UU's technical authority on NRSWA, SROH, UKAS and best practice
  • Drive continuous improvement in streetworks quality and reduce regulatory risk
  • Support wider assurance functions, including ISO certification
Qualifications
  • Full NRSWA Supervisor and Operative qualifications
  • IOSH or NEBOSH certification for construction site auditing
  • Extensive experience in streetworks auditing, testing and compliance (5+ years)
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management skills
  • Excellent planning, decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and proven budget management
