What you'll do

The International Government Strategy team at Viasat shapes the business unit's long-term direction in the Government and defense markets outside the U.S. We analyze market trends and priorities to identify new growth opportunities. Our focus includes market sizing, competitive analysis, strategic planning, and prioritization of opportunities across regions and verticals. We support making decisions about where the business should play and how to win.

Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, problem solving and communication are required to build prioritization models, assess markets attractiveness, and influence the BU's strategic direction.

The right candidate will collaborate regularly with teams across Viasat, including Sales, Business Development, Commercial, Capture, Engineering and Senior Leadership for strategic decisions.

The day-to-day

Day-to-day involves:

  • Supporting strategic planning and tracking strategy execution.
  • Conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis to inform market trends, competitive landscapes, market sizing and forecastinng to support the identification of high-growth opportunities.
  • Development of prioritization models and strategic new growth opportunities Businenss Cases.
  • Engaging with sales, engineering, commercial and capture teams to regularly gather intelligence from the field.
  • Preparing executive briefings and answering ad-hoc executive requests.
What you'll need
  • Ability to define strong business strategies, and develop actionable plans to execute strategies.
  • Deep understanding of Space, Satcom and or cybersecurity competitive landscape and industry trends.
  • Financial literacy, and the ability to grasp complex business models to identify opportunities for growth, assess risks, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative analysis skills and ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data to inform strategic decisions.
