In addition, each role will have the following responsibilities:

Strategic Finance Director

• Act as principal financial advisor to Ministers, the Principal Accounting Officer (Permanent Secretary), Executive Committee and senior leaders on all strategic financial matters, including resource allocation.
• Lead the development and delivery of the Home Office’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with departmental and government priorities.
• Lead engagement with HM Treasury and represent the department at cross-government finance forums.

Finance Director, Business Partnering

• Act as the primary finance liaison for Directors-General and business units across the organisation.
• Lead the Finance function’s business partner model, fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders within a complex, politically sensitive environment.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and business partnering, maximising the impact of finance across the department.
