Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic awareness of infection control principles and microbiology.
• Knowledge of SSD machinery and sterile packing techniques is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, inspect, clean, disinfect, assemble, prepare, sterilize surgical instruments.
• Assist the theatre team by ensuring equipment is ready for use.
• Monitor repairs of instruments and complete tracking systems.

Skills

Self-Motivated

Ability to work alone and in teams

Basic awareness of health, safety and hygiene

Education

Certificate in Decontamination or NVQ level 3 in Decontamination or TVQ level 1 & 2 in Decontamination
