Overview

We are seeking a Steel Quality Assurance Inspector to oversee inspection, documentation, and compliance processes within a fabrication environment. The role will involve working closely with the production team on the shop floor, ensuring all inspection and testing requirements are carried out accurately and recorded in line with project specifications.

Location: West London

Salary: £38,000

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: 8:00 - 17:00

Type: 4-6 months temporary role with a view to permanent

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections and maintain documentation for steelwork in accordance with project and engineering specifications.
  • Carry out internal audits and ensure all QA processes and procedures are followed.
  • Record testing data and inspection results with precision and clarity.
  • Identify and flag any non-conformances, supporting corrective actions to maintain quality standards.
  • Liaise with engineers, supervisors, and fabricators to ensure inspection standards are understood and applied.
  • Manage inspection records and reports to support project traceability.
  • Support continuous improvement in QA and safety practices on the shop floor.
Requirements
  • Experience in quality assurance or inspection within a construction or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical, procedure-driven approach.
  • Confident working hands-on with materials on the shop floor.
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication or construction processes preferred.
  • QA qualifications, NDT certification, or overhead crane experience would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in NDT or QA is desirable.
