Job summary

A well-established structural steel specialist in Greater London is seeking an experienced Steel Detailer. You will be involved in a variety of structural steel projects, using Advance Steel to produce 3D models and detailed drawings. Ideal candidates have a minimum of 3 years of UK structural steel experience and strong attention to detail. This is a full-time, office-based role with occasional site surveys.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in UK structural steel industry.
• Proficient in using Advance Steel for detailing.
• Strong ability to interpret technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Interpret architects'/engineers' drawings and specifications.
• Produce 3D models and detailed drawings.
• Prepare installation and fabrication drawings.
• Generate manufacturing and purchase lists.
• Support material ordering processes.
• Liaise with architects and engineers.
• Conduct site surveys as needed.
• Manage RFIs and site queries.

Our client is a well-established structural steel specialist supporting commercial, residential and infrastructure projects. They provide on-site welding, fabrication and technical support, and use industry-standard modelling software. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Steel Detailer to join their team.

Responsibilities

• Interpret architects'/engineers' drawings and specifications
• Produce 3D models and detailed drawings using Advance Steel/Tekla
• Prepare GA, installation and fabrication drawings
• Generate manufacturing and purchase lists
• Support material ordering
• Liaise with architects, engineers, clients and internal teams
• Conduct site surveys as needed
• Manage RFIs and site queries
• Assist workshop with drawing-related questions
• Maintain drawing registers and issue documentation
