About the Role

Join us as a Station Guide at Sizewell B Power Station, where you'll be the face and voice of our station.

Delivering engaging presentations and site tours to diverse groups. This role offers flexible part time hours and the chance to educate and inspire school and college groups, the public and business visitors.

The Opportunity

In this role, you'll be the ambassador of Sizewell B Power Station, delivering presentations and site tours to various groups. You'll need to be quick-thinking, friendly, and confident in all aspects of the role, ensuring a positive experience for all visitors whatever their background.

This role is offered as a permanent, annualised hours contract. We're recruiting on a flexible contract, with a minimum contracted hours of 8 per week. However, tour demand is such that our guides often work more than their contracted hours.

Hours are Monday - Friday, occasional evening work may be required.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Station Guide, you’ll be the face and voice of Sizewell B Power Station and EDF, ensuring the safety and well-being of visitors throughout their visit.

You’ll represent the station at external events, delivering presentations to various groups, from business visitors to educational institutions.

You’ll support educational groups through centre activities and station tours, communicate with internal and external stakeholders, and work with the Visitor Centre Co‑ordinator and the existing team to promote and manage EDF’s reputation in the local community.

Who You Are

We’re looking for a friendly and approachable person with an interest in Science and Engineering, who can be flexible with the days they work each week.

You’ll need to be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and willing to learn about the world of nuclear energy.

You’ll need to be IT literate, able to use Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook competently, and have excellent communication and customer service skills.

Most of your time will be spent on station leading walking tours, each lasting approximately 3 hours.

A good level of physical fitness is required for this role.

A UK Driving licence is also required.

The majority of our Visitors are students visiting with Schools and colleges, experience of working with young people would be an advantage.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
