Job Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic Staff Nurse to join our Hugo Liebeschuetz Neonatal Unit at Southend Hospital. We are extremely proud of our Neonatal Unit, and have on‑going commitment to enhancing practice and staff development. This is an amazing opportunity to make a difference in the lives of newborn babies and their families.

Our unit is superbly equipped and resourced to care for all the sick and premature babies born at the hospital and in the local area, and we also provide facilities for parents and carers. If you're looking for a new opportunity and have the relevant experience we welcome your application.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Manager in the provision and maintenance of a seamless service and high quality care to patients in accordance with Clinical Governance within the ward/department.
  • Contribute to the reduction of healthcare acquired infection by ensuring a high standard of infection control practice in the light of research current best evidence and legislation.
  • Collaboratively function as part of the multi‑disciplinary team within the Neonatal unit, working within the Trust’s policies and procedures and the Ward Philosophy.
  • Support the Paediatric Directorate as a whole, inclusive of outpatients, Neptune ward, Paediatric Assessment Unit and Accident & Emergency.
  • Be a reflective practitioner and continue to develop your own capabilities and nursing knowledge in line with the Trust’s career pathway where education is supported.
Qualifications
  • Relevant experience in neonatal nursing.
