Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs and circulate in the IR suite.
  • Assist the radiologist as a scrub nurse and recover post‑GA patients.
  • Administer IV medications and blood products (training provided).
  • Carry out clinical practice within designated areas, ensuring evidence‑based assessment, care planning, implementation, interventions and evaluations from admission to discharge.
  • Apply knowledge across work procedures and practices, integrating theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
  • Provide high‑quality clinical care, respecting patients’ customs, religious beliefs and doctrines, and ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Recognise and avoid situations detrimental to health and wellbeing; use observations to develop nursing assessments and care plans.
  • Ensure all patients have a safe and appropriate discharge plan.
  • Conduct prescribed physical observations (BP, temperature, respiration, blood sugar, urinalysis, weight, height) and report exceptions.
  • Maintain the highest standards in nursing procedures and treatments, documenting accurately and legibly in information systems.
  • Work alongside the multi‑disciplinary team to advise on nursing priorities and share treatment plans.
  • Communicate effectively with all team members regarding patient care and give/receive day/night reports, acting as team leader/member/coordinator as necessary.
