An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Anaesthetics and Critical Care Team at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. There are ST LAS vacancies at both Princess of Wales Hospital and Royal Glamorgan Hospital to join a friendly and enthusiastic team.

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is one of the largest Health Boards in Wales and was formed in 2019. It is situated near the vibrant cities of Cardiff, Swansea and Bristol and is enriched with magnificent scenery including beautiful beaches and the stunning Brecon Beacons national park. Welsh history, culture, music and of course rugby lie at the heart of the Health Board. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
  • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice and eligible to work in the UK
  • ALS Certified
  • Primary FRCA
  • 2 years postgraduational training in anaesthesia and intensive care to include 6 months intensive care training (minimum) and 1 year of anaesthesia (minimum)
  • Experience of working in the UK
Knowledge and Skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work unsupervised during unsociable hours
Personality Requirements
  • Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues
  • Flexible and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to speak or desire to learn Welsh
Audit
  • Demonstrable commitment to the audit process and ability to participate in audit to practice evidence based medicine
Physical Requirements and Attributes to Include General Health
  • Must be able to perform the duties of the post
  • The post holder must have proof of immunity to Hepatitis B or evidence that you are not Hepatitis B e antigen positive. This must have been obtained in the last 6 months
Circumstances e.g. Mobility/availability - special attendance requirements
  • Ability to fulfil the requirements of the post
  • Has an awareness of risk management
  • Has experience of incident reporting and investigations
