Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least three days per week or 60% of our time, at one of our office sites.

This role is your chance to be part of a dynamic and rapidly growing team, where you'll play a pivotal role in our aspiration to become a leading bank for SSA clients.

What you’ll be doing
  • Drive Growth: Ensure strong, proactive management of the client portfolio, maintaining close ties with key external and internal partners and aligning with all regulatory and group policy requirements.
  • Origination Efforts: Play a key role in supporting the end-to-end financing journey for government-linked clients. You'll demonstrate your sector knowledge to unlock new banking opportunities.
  • Relationship Management: Support the Head of Sector and Director in managing key client relationships, with additional responsibility for a portfolio of clients.
  • Client Engagement: Assist with client analysis, preparation of presentations, submissions to business/credit committees, and support team P&L management.
  • Expand SSA Business: Proactively identify and acquire new business with a focus on improving revenue growth through central initiatives and cross-selling opportunities, across capital and financial markets, lending and ECA.
  • Market Awareness: Stay informed about key market and regulatory developments, understand the target client base and market dynamics, and review, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks.

What you’ll need
  • Banking Knowledge: Proficient in cash management and payments, with in-depth knowledge of credit/lending and financial markets products (repos, bonds, deposits, FX).
  • Coverage Experience: Previous experience in a client-facing or coverage role, with prior experience with sovereign, supra and agency (SSA) community.
  • Track Record: A track record of origination and execution in capital markets (DCM, loans), solving challenges and identifying opportunities for SSAs globally.
  • Operational Knowledge: Strong operational documentation knowledge for SSA clients (including GMRA, ISDA) and experience with reputational risk, client servicing, KYC, cross-border, and onboarding.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building, sustaining, and nurturing client relationships.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and financial analysis skills, diligent and capable of running multiple workstreams.

This role is considered Certified under the Senior Manager and Certification Regime as either requiring mandatory qualifications or being deemed as a role capable of providing ‘significant harm’ to customers. Due to this, successful candidates will be subject to enhanced levels of vetting, and required to complete a fitness and propriety attestation on commencement in role. If you manage certified colleagues this role will be identified as Manager of certification employees under SYSC 27.8.13R as defined in the FCA Handbook. The function of managing or supervising a certification employee, directly or indirectly, is an FCA-specified significant-harm function. (2) A function in (1) is not an FCA certification function for that firm if it is performed by an SMF manager of that firm.
