Sports Coach – Secondary School – Wythenshawe

About the school

Prospero Teaching is looking for a confident and energetic Sports Coach for a school in Wythenshawe. You will deliver PE sessions and coaching sessions in the gym, and accompany students to sports activities such as boxing and trampolining. You must be confident in implementing the school sport programme, promoting physical fitness and healthy lifestyles, and be a positive role model for pupils who are disengaged with their studies. The school serves students in a secondary setting, including those with an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP). It provides support for a range of needs, including autistic spectrum disorder, Asperger’s syndrome, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health challenges (e.g., ADHD).

The position is open to all applicants with experience delivering and mentoring sports to children and young adults. Depending on performance, the school would consider extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

Responsibilities

Experience, training and qualifications
  • Previous experience delivering sports sessions
  • GCSE Maths and English and computer literacy
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training issued in the last year
  • Team Teach qualified (or registered to attend with our agency)
Eligibility
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate with online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references covering at least the last two years
