Speed Assembly Operator

Location: Fareham

Rate: £17.79 per our via PAYE

Length: 6 months

The role

Speed Assembly Operator; the successful applicant will manufacture various components and assemblies using recognized processes / skills. You will produce quality finished components and assemblies in accordance with drawings and MBS routings / manufacturing build specifications to aerospace standards.

Responsibility
  • To work efficiently within agreed standards, without supervision.
  • To work accurately and pay attention to detail.
  • To obtain and maintain operator self‑inspection capability.
  • To work as a team member with a flexible attitude towards work.
  • To be responsible for housekeeping and tidiness on the shop floor.
  • To be pro‑active in aiding the Team Leader / management team in improving the efficiency of the operation in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery.
  • To be able to set up jigs and fixtures for assembly and test purposes for themselves and Manufacturing Technicians.
  • To be an expert in at least one of the processes with the ability to train others / prepare them for external training and subsequent approval.
  • The ability to actively participate in root cause analysis investigations.
  • The ability to support / advise engineering with regards new product introduction.
  • To be familiar with the Health and Safety and Fire policies for the company and to attend mandatory updates when required.
  • Good awareness of Environmental procedures (ISO 14001) and their application.
Requirements
  • Proven relevant experience
  • Expert in at least one of the following processes; Vacuum Brazing
  • General Assembly
  • Soldering (J-STD 001)
  • Experience of performing manual assembly operations - manual dexterity
  • Skilled in the reading and interpretation of engineering drawings
  • Basic oral and written communications skills
  • Good eye sight including depth perception / Normal colour vision
  • Experience in any of the following processes: (Desirable) Coil Winding / Induction brazing / Resistance Welding / Machine Welding (TIG) / Swaging / Encapsulation / Potting / Grit blasting / Manual Welding (TIG) - Approved / Vacuum Brazing / Electron Beam Welding / Junction Welding / Spray / Paint / NDT Processes (including X-Ray & Dye Penetrant Inspection)
