Job description

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board

Speech and Language Therapy Associate Practitioner

The closing date is 23 December 2025.

This is an exciting time for AHP assistants in CTMUHB – a time of innovative and progressive change, a time where we are looking for visionary team members at all levels to guide and implement this transition.

We are investing in our offer to the community served by CTM, bringing care closer to home, inspiring and enabling people to lead healthier lives.

We are creating innovative offers of assessment, advice and intervention, building strong integrated teams and designing a seamless path for our patients.

The right candidate will have a strong team ethos and will value the importance of involving the clinical teams as an integral part of the service development.

AHP assistants are natural facilitators of rehabilitation and through their patient‑centred, resourceful approach, Wales can develop the very best services in the world, services that will improve the quality of life for our CTM community. We want to see these developed and implemented at pace to enable the vision of supporting citizens to achieve their maximum potential – physically, cognitively, socially and psychologically. (From AHP Framework 2019)

You will work alongside our highly specialist SLTs to deliver support to patients and carers around swallow/communication difficulties, offering domiciliary, OP, care home and virtual appointments jointly with our dietetic colleagues across the UHB. You will also support the clinical administration of SLT community services.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable.
