A regional health board in North Wales is seeking a Specialty Doctor for a part-time role in Sexual Health services. You will assess and manage STIs, prescribe a wide range of contraception, and support nursing staff at various community clinics. Ideal candidates will hold Full GMC registration and have relevant experience. The position offers a salary of £61,542 to £99,216 a year pro-rata, with a fixed-term contract lasting 12 months.
We provide Sexual Health clinics at Wrexham Sexual Health and three other community sites. We also have late clinics at Wrexham and in the community.
We also provide all contraception services including pills and all long‑acting reversible contraception methods (LARC) in our clinics. We see approximately 12,000 patients in our clinics annually.
We also manage weekly Sexual Health/HIV clinics at HMP Berwyn prison at Wrexham.
This post comprises 6 sessions and the post‑holder will work alongside the department's consultants and other colleagues in diagnosing and managing STIs, assessing and providing contraception and providing advice on safer sex.

The post is based at Wrexham Sexual Health but may also be asked to work at one of the community clinic sites. The post‑holder will assess, advise on and prescribe a wide range of contraception including long‑acting reversible contraception. He/she will provide advice and supervision for nursing staff working in nurse‑led clinics and alongside medical staff, review and act on abnormal results of investigations, and arrange adequate referrals to associated disciplines.
