Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma_Work? and licence to practice as a speech and language therapist as approved by Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists
  • Current registration as a qualified speech & language therapist with the Health Care Professions Council
  • Evidence of post‑graduate study relevant-MM to the post
  • Evidence of leadership training

  • Holds UK driving licence and has access to a car for work purposes
Experience
  • Relevant post‑preceptorship experience working with a range of children in the specialist area of communication and interaction
  • Working in partnership with children, young people and their families
  • Some experience of providing appropriate advice for EHCPs
  • Experience of working in a range of environments, including education settings
  • Experience of multidisciplinary working with health, social care and education teams.
Skills
  • Well‑developed communication skills: able to motivate, negotiate, persuade, empathise, communicate sensitively, sympathetically and with reassurance.
  • Able to make judgements involving highly complex information
  • Knowledge, skills & understanding of children & young people in the specialist area of communication and interaction needs
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of NHS and Education policies relating to SLCN
  • Knowledge of national documents relating to developmental communication needs
