Specialist Renal Dietitian

This is an exciting opportunity to be a highly valued member of an established MDT to support the dietetic management of a highly complex patient group. The primary function of the role is to provide clinical expertise in supporting the delivery of high standards of therapeutic care for patients within the field of Renal Nutrition and Dietetics.

Main duties of the job
  • To be an advanced practitioner within the field of Renal Nutrition and Dietetics
  • To support the development of the Renal Dietetic Service across Doncaster and Bassetlaw.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of the Renal Dietetic Service
  • The prime function of the role is to provide clinical expertise in supporting the delivery of high standards of therapeutic care for patients within the field of Renal Nutrition and Dietetics
  • To manage own caseload and to provide a high standard of assessment, management, treatment and advice to meet the needs of patients.
  • To act as a point of contact for other agencies for issues relating to therapeutic intervention.
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues in health, social care, local authority and other agencies to meet the needs of patients.
  • To ensure the efficient and effective use of resources available within the team.
  • To work with other members of the team in the development of the service.
  • To ensure Clinical Governance is integral to service delivery within the specialty area.
  • To represent the Therapy Team and contribute to the development of the wider Therapy service throughout the Trust.

  • Significant experience (minimum 3 years) working as a Qualified Dietitian
  • Evidence of working with patients who require highly complex management within relevant specialist areasUnderstanding of professional ethics
  • Therapeutic experience in a wide range of areas

  • Experience of delivering formal presentations to multi‑professional groups
